Under the warm Carolina sun, the annual “Hendrick Family Foundations Learn Live Hope Golf Classic” brought together the worlds of golf and philanthropy. The event, hosted by Rick Hendrick, the chairman and CEO of Hendrick Automotive Group and the team owner of Hendrick Motorsports, was nothing short of a success.
The Learn Live Hope Golf Classic has been a cherished tradition since 2004. A testament to Rick Hendrick and his company’s commitment to making a positive impact on the community. This year, the event exceeded expectations by raising over $1.3 million in funds. What makes this achievement remarkable is the local organizations that will benefit from these contributions.

The funds raised during the annual event will be directed toward several deserving organizations. Among them are the Boys and Girls Club, Levine Children’s Hospital, Be The Match, Crisis Assistance Ministry, and Second Harvest Food Bank. These institutions play vital roles in their respective areas of focus. moreover, the financial support provided by the Learn Live Hope Golf Classic will undoubtedly aid them in their missions.
The golf event also attracted the presence of some of NASCAR’s brightest stars. All four Hendrick Motorsports drivers—Alex Bowman, William Byron, Chase Elliott, and Kyle Larson—graced the occasion, showing their unwavering support for the cause. Additionally, HMS vice chairman and NASCAR Hall of Famer, Jeff Gordon, joined the event, adding to its star-studded lineup. Fellow Chevrolet driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr also participated, making it a day to remember for all involved.
Rick Hendrick himself expressed gratitude, he told the crowd, “What a beautiful day God blessed us with for our tournament. I want to thank everybody for being here for such a great cause.” Hendrick’s personal involvement and appreciation for the event’s success added a heartfelt touch to the day’s proceedings. Throughout the day, Rick Hendrick made it a point to personally connect with the 224 players. He posed for photos and expressed his thanks to the numerous volunteers and over 30 sponsors who contributed to the event’s success.

In a behind-the-scenes take from the HMS social media team, the crew chiefs were in for an intriguing discussion. But it had nothing to do with the tracks or the race cars or the ongoing silly season.
The burning question on the minds of the HMS social media team was, “How often do you think about the Roman Empire?” In a playful clip shared on YouTube, the crew chiefs shared their thoughts. Rudy Fugle, the crew chief of the #24 team, revealed he thinks about it “About once a week.” Blake Harris, from the #48 team, chimed in, saying, “I mean at least once a week.”
However, Alan Gustafson, crew chief for the #9 team, took the crown for devotion to ancient Rome, admitting, “Oh every day! Yeah, we’re talking every day.” Even Cliff Daniels, assisting Kyle Larson, found time each day to ponder the empire’s legacy, despite the pressure of the intensifying playoffs.
