The NASCAR All-Star Cup qualifying race at North Wilkesboro has been postponed to Saturday after the Truck Series qualifying rounds. The weather gods have been cruel to NASCAR events ever since the start of the 2024 season. After the Busch Light Clash and the Dayton 500, the All-Star event now undergoes the ill effects of the rain.

Only Bowman and Gibbs take the front row for the All-Star Open

In order to set the field for the All-Star Open, only Alex Bowman and Ty Gibbs managed to complete their laps out of the two entries. Therefore, it automatically bumped them to the front row for the open qualifying event, which was rescheduled for Saturday afternoon. This open qualifying will fill two of the remaining positions for the All-Star qualifying. Whereas, the final remaining spot will be determined by fan votes.

This also meant that the All-Star qualifying and the pit crew challenge would also be moved ahead of their original schedule. Sharing the update about the new schedule, NASCAR via its X account wrote, “NEWS: Due to rain, #AllStarRace qualifying and the Pit Crew Challenge have been postponed to Saturday at 11:40 a.m. ET on FS1, MRN and @SiriusXMNASCAR.”

This will only add to the already busy schedule for Saturday, which has the Craftsman Truck Series qualifying, the Truck race, and also the heats. The heat races will set the field for the main event on Sunday. However, the weather forecast for the next two days isn’t looking very promising. Despite having wet weather tires handy, NASCAR won’t be running races in case of heavy rain showers.

With the weather looking grim, fans had only more questions and confusion regarding the rescheduling of the events.

Given the weather forecast isn’t looking good for Saturday, a fan, in expressing his concern, stated, “and the weather is even worse tomorrow”.

Trying to see through the hypothetical scenario of rain washing out the entirety of the schedule on Saturday, a fan made a bold prediction. “Going rain all day tomorrow! Larson is going get the pole isn’t he.” In case the heat races do not go as planned, Larson will be taking the pole for the All-Star race as he is the points leader.

Venting out the frustration of not being able to watch the heat race on F1, another user replied, “Thank you. I don’t have fs2. Where else can I watch the all star heats?”

One fan wanted to know if, the Truck race could be started early in case it rained again. “@bobpockrass any chance they would move the truck race to an earlier start time due to rain”.

The situation certainly is grim, and NASCAR fans will be hoping for the rain clouds to clear out for the next two days.
