Is Kevin Harvick's exclusion of Denny Hamlin from his top four predictions a bold move or a misstep?

Kevin Harvick is used to making the headlines. His career as a NASCAR driver and even his post-retirement performance have been phenomenal. As exciting as it sounds, the Vegas Speedway holds some never-before-seen-before feats for sure!

Kevin Harvick is a revered figure in the field of NASCAR driving. As a result, his recent partnership instills new hopes and brings a fresh perspective. The 2025 season will witness both Kevin and Keelan, his son, driving on the tracks for Rackley W.A.R. That is not all! Kevin Harvick will also be serving as a consultant for the NASCAR Truck Series Programme. Running at the tracks alongside Kevin Harvick will be his son Keelan Harvick. This could serve as a great practice for upcoming programs.

In a recent video, Harvick mentioned, “We are at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and tonight I am gonna run the Late Model Race as part of the Cars Tour West Event. It’s crucial to try to position myself and Keelan with great teachers and the Rackley W.A.R. program with Willie Allen and Curtis. They have done a great job with a lot of young kids and for us, we race late-model stocks so the pro and super programs for us were difficult. So we needed to find an alternative to be able to outsource that piece of that and also be able to race on the West Coast next year and the East Coast all around the country with all the things that we’re doing with the cars”.

The partnership between Harvick and Rackley is supposed to bring about a monumental impact with decades of championship experience. Harvick’s knowledge and ownership can help the young talents to gain the best perspective and knowledge. However, his sole experience in the field of late-model stocks could lead to problems. This is why the super programs might seem to be difficult. The Las Vegas stent could be a game-changer in this aspect.

It does not end here. Harvick will also be serving as a full-time mentor for Rackley’s W.A.R’s No.25 driver, Dawson Sutton. Sutton made a career-best fifth finish at the Kansas Speedway recently. For the next season, Sutton will be driving for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in a full-time position.

The W.A.R. program could be a game-changer for Sutton as it has been for drivers like Josh Berry, Ross Chastain, and even William Byron. Expressing his excitement, Sutton mentioned, “I’m here racing with Kevin Harvick as my teammate in our Super Late Models this weekend at Las Vegas [The Bullring], so it’s been cool working with him as well”. Dawson made his debut in 2024 and it can be anticipated that with his exceptional skills along with Harvick’s able guidance, he would be able to make a fine mark.

With the CARS season still a little ways away, Harvick remains focused on the ongoing Cup Series. With the first race of the round of 8 only hours away, let’s see what Harvick has to say.

The NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs are now at a very exciting stage. The 8 top drivers are all set to show their prowess at the Las Vegas Speedway. After all, the battle is to secure top positions and playoff points. Ahead of this round, Kevin Harvick has shared his predictions about the probable 4 he sees in the lineup. Consequently, the Round of 8 will give way to the next run at Homestead Miami which would again take the top 4 to the final championship round.

In an episode of his very own podcast, Happy Hour, Harvick mentioned that the four names that make it to his list are. He said, “I think, for me, William Byron, Kyle Larson, Christopher Bell, and Tyler Reddick. I just think that Reddick is going to be able to get it done on one of these two race tracks, and I don’t see Logano and Blaney having the speed. Chase Elliott has been very consistent, and he’s had quality, good finishes, but I just haven’t seen that dominance out of those three guys. Denny Hamlin, I think he’s the wild card. I know he’s my championship pick, but I think it’s going to be tough for him if they don’t win Martinsville.

This was a shocker for many because he left Denny Hamlin and the defending champion Ryan Blaney out of the contest. For Denny Hamlin, it comes as a difficult prediction, given his record of going winless throughout his career. That’s not the end of troubles for Hamlin, as outside the racing front, his team 23XI remains locked in a tough battle against NASCAR.

Do you think that the NASCAR veteran has made correct predictions or will the series unfurl some new names?
