As the 2024 season is officially around the corner, there’s once again nothing that could boost the morale of the Cup Series contenders more than winning the Great American Race on February 19. With Denny Hamlin having the upper edge on the rest of the field after a dominant display of pace at the Busch Light Clash, many drivers are looking to get 2024 started on a high note.

But for Kyle Busch, a win at the Daytona 500 would mean so much more. Not only has the prestigious victory lane of the 500 eluded Busch’s reach for nearly two decades, but the prospect of winning it with Richard Childress Racing would also mean that Busch could recreate Earnhardt’s glorious Daytona 500 win from 1998. So with Richard Childress Racing announcing the paint scheme for their partnership with Zone, the rest of the work remains largely in Busch’s hands.

Can Kyle Busch finally achieve glory at the Daytona 500?

After all the buzz and excitement from the Busch Light Clash action had settled, Richard Childress Racing chose the perfect time to reveal the #8 Zone Chevrolet. Taking to X, the team shared, “We’re thrilled to unveil the new No. 8 zone Chevrolet! Who is ready to see it under the lights at Daytona?!” And whilst most paint scheme reveals come in the form of an intricately designed poster, the media team at RCR have truly outdone themselves this time.

The post contained a beautifully rendered video of the Zone Chevrolet running under the Daytona International Speedway lights. The car features a distinctive green and blue theme that plays off of the Zone logo. And whilst the livery itself was enough to trigger quite a buzz amongst RCR fans, Kyle Busch couldn’t help but add pressure to him publicly. He stated, “Can’t wait to get to Daytona and finally bring home the hardware. 20 years of trying…The same as someone at RCR before 👊🏻”

It’s no secret that Kyle Busch has come close to visiting victory lane during the Daytona 500 on multiple occasions. Throughout his career, Busch managed to reach within touching distance of Daytona glory, like in 2019 and 2023, but it always seemed just out of reach. Last year was perhaps the one that hurt the most, considering Busch was leading the Great American Race with three laps to go before the ‘big one’ triggered a major pileup which eventually saw him finish at P19.

So even with his first Daytona stint alongside Richard Childress Racing failing to bear fruit, Kyle Busch is hopeful he can mimic The Intimidator who won the Daytona 500 after two decades of chasing the victory lane, finally bringing it home with Richard Childress Racing. And to anyone who know’s the significance of that 1998 Daytona win for Earnhardt’s legacy, it becomes fairly evident why Busch is excited at the prospect of recreating a similar feat.

When Richard Childress Racing announced its partnership with Zone nicotine pouches for the Daytona Speedweeks events and also for other select races in 2024, little was known about the brand by the NASCAR community. The brand aims to provide a premium smoke-free and tobacco free experience to consumers. Zone aims to serve as the anchor partner for Kyle Busch as NASCAR and the nicotine market share a lot in common according to the executive vice president of marketing for ITG Brands, Rishi Dhingra. In a statement released by RCR, Dhingra stated, “Partnering with Richard Childress Racing, Kyle Busch and the No. 8 team is a natural fit for zone, whose demographic of adult nicotine consumers overlaps with NASCAR’s core audience.”

With Kyle Busch’s omnipresence at the top level of the sport for decades, it’s only natural that the RCR star is the perfect fit for a brand looking to widen its horizons. Reflecting in Busch and RCR’s history of dominance, Dhingra concluded, “Kyle Busch and Richard Childress are true champions in every sense of the word, and we know they will do a great job representing zone.”

It’s safe to say the team feels the same way about the brand, as they share a common goal to spread awareness around nicotines consumption. Torrey Galida, the president of RCR also shared, “We are looking forward to helping zone build brand awareness and introduce adult nicotine consumers to their premium nicotine pouches.”
