Despite all the pit crew changes coming in every weekend, Kyle Busch and his #8 team seem to be in a rut, struggling to get out. If it was inconsistency that rattled the team last year with the #8 Chevy underperforming, this season, it is pit road woes that have the 2-time champion worried.

While a close finish at Atlanta got the KB army all stoked, Richard Childress Racing‘s pit crew woes and Busch’s recent ventures have the fandom alarmed and concerned for the driver. Moreover, with Bob Pockrass revealing the dark truth about RCR and their teams, fans have taken up arms, alleging “nepotism,” deeming that the boss man Childress is discriminating against the ‘Rowdy’ against his own grandson.

As mentioned above, the #8 Chevy now has the pace to hang in with the best cars on the field, just like when he did at Atlanta, cutting into the middle to take the checkered flag. But other than that performance, Busch has no top 5s on his resume for this season, and the pit road struggles that have been there since the season-opener at Daytona are ever persistent.

Even after a major rejig, the #8 team still faced some issues as Kyle Busch fell straight from P2 back to a P26 finish due to a slow pit halt. These kinds of instabilities and repetitive issues can topple the ambitions of any driver, even if it’s a 2-time champion like Kyle Busch. But what enraged the fandom was the fact that Busch’s teammate Austin Dillon has one of the best pit crews, ranking in the top 10 despite not even being on the same level as Busch.

Replying to a fan comment, Fox reporter Bob Pockrass exposed the harsh truth publicly on social media, which sparked off a chain of fan comments like, “This is the definition of nepotism.” “RCR really killing it…”

As per fans, RCR’s alleged nepotism narrative mercilessly drags Dillon through the mud

Every week, the #8 team seems to be shuffling crews to fine-tune things on the pit road and make the best of the upcoming events. Busch himself voiced this when he opened up in a media interaction. He said, “I would say it’s still unsettled. The proof is in your results, right? You’re only as good as your last race as drivers tend to say. You’re only as good as your last stop, I guess, as a pit crew guy should say.”

While the driver was optimistic about making change with the team tirelessly working to perfect their craft, the new revelation from Pockrass did not sit well with fans. One fan denounced Dillon and wrote, “They need to flip the three pit crew to the 8. Austin has no chance this season.”

Whereas another fan sought  out things deriving a mathematical equation, Better Driver = Worse Crew, Worse Driver = Better Crew, Equal; “Top 10 pit crew with a bottom 10 driver, Top 10 driver with a bottom 10 pit crew.”
