The introduction of the Next Gen car has truly shaken the field order as we knew it before the 2022 season. Drivers who were expected to take wins are now struggling while the drivers who were struggling or were in the top tens last year are fighting for the wins. And one of those front-runners is Richard Childress Racing’s, Tyler Reddick.
The back-to-back Xfinity Series champion has firmly established himself as one of the most improved and promising drivers so far this season. Although all of his races were compromised because of one misfortune or the other, Reddick has shown that he is cut for race wins and potentially, a championship under the right circumstances.
Perhaps this is the opinion that Richard Childress also shares, hence his contract extension.

The legendary team-owner recently confirmed that Reddick will be back behind the wheel of the RCR next season as well. “He’s under contract for next year,” Childress said.
“This is the Tyler Reddick that I knew was there.”
Tyler Reddick wants to “run good” for Richard Childress Racing
After the race in Phoenix, Tyler Reddick was asked what’s different for him in 2022 compared to the previous season. “Just getting out of it what I’m putting into it. It’s really nothing else than that,” he said.
In 2021, the RCR driver had 16 finishes inside the top ten that made sure he entered the playoffs.

In the current season, if not for mechanical issues and bad luck, Reddick would’ve had at least two wins considering he won Stage 1 and Stage 2 in Fontana and led 51 laps in the Clash.
Nevertheless, Reddick is determined to race, and race for the wins. “I just really want to win, really want to run good for my team. They feed off that. Then I feed off that,” he said.
