Sometimes it is all about just the leap of faith, that one has to take and has to have faith in the odds that things will turn around and provide favorable results. Richard Childress did the same thing back in 1981 and he repeated the same process forty years later when he signed Kyle Busch in 2023.

Both the gambles were the turning point in his life. He had signed Dale Earnhardt Sr, back in 1981, after the driver had clinched his first Cup Series title. With the signing on the dotted lines, the duo went on to create history for 20 years, and perhaps the most glorious twenty years of NASCAR. Until an unfortunate event put an end to it.

Richard Childress has been in the NASCAR business for more than five decades. Very few personalities know the intricacies of racing like he does. His signing of Dale Earnhardt has been perhaps the best decision that he had taken back then. Out of the seven Cup Series championships that Senior clinched, six were with Richard Childress Racing.

Richard Childress has the utmost faith in Kyle Busch that he can still the third championship title

Fast forwarding to 2022, when Kyle Busch decided to leave Joe Gibbs Racing, his team for fifteen years, and where he won two of his championship titles shocked the whole of NASCAR after failed sponsorship talks. After securing a seat in RCR, the NASCAR enthusiasts were skeptical of the fact whether it would churn out any good results, given both have fiery personalities.

But as a matter of fact, the duo did churn out more than what was expected of them. In the ongoing season, Kyle Busch and his No.8 Chevrolet team went on to win three titles, an equivalent of the total wins of JGR so far into the season. And owing to this fact the team boss Richard Childress has raised the expectations for his team as he has utmost faith that Kyle Busch has the potency to win his third title.

He expressed these views in the press conference at the World Wide Technology Raceway. While speaking on an array of topics and replying to the inquisitive questions of the reporters, the team boss Richard Childress shared his thoughts on his relationship with Kyle Busch. The video was posted by Bob Pockrass, the NASCAR analyst from FOX

The team owner replied, “Kyle has been really…he is such a pleasure to work with. Everybody said man,  how y’all going to get along? The same question they asked me about you and Dale won’t last six months. We lasted 20 years. I want to keep Kyle there and hopefully, we can end his career when he gets ready to.”
