Bubba Wallace and 23XI Racing had already promised their fans some different paint schemes for the 2021 NASCAR season, with a host of primary sponsors on their roster. Wallace ran a new paint scheme last weekend at Martinsville and returns with another new one for this Sunday’s race at Richmond.
The no. 23 car at Richmond will feature a new primary sponsor on its hood. After the Doordash and McDonald’s paint schemes featured prominently in the first eight races, another main sponsor, Root Insurance will be seen at Richmond.

What makes the new 23XI Racing paint scheme different?
Red, white, and black are the main colors for the 23XI Racing cars. The Root Insurance scheme at Richmond will be prominently red in color, with black across the bottom part of the car. The number and sponsor names are in white.
The car has a completely different look to what Wallace and the team fielded at Martinsville. The Doordash paint scheme for that race was a white and red scheme.
Additionally, Wallace will also sport a new fire suit for Sunday’s race. He will be seen in a dark blue suit for the race, that will of course feature the names and logos of all the sponsors.

Wallace will hope the new scheme brings better luck as well. The no. 23 Cup driver has shown decent improvement in recent weeks, finishing in the top-20 in three of the last four races. Wallace looked good for a strong finish in the Bristol dirt race as well, before some mid-race issues pushed him outside the reckoning for a good finish.

Richmond has not been kind to Wallace in his past Cup Series races there. In five races so far, Wallace has the best finish of 12th and his other four finishes are all 25th or lower.
However, with better equipment and resources at 23XI Racing, Wallace will not be too bothered by those past races.
