Bubba Wallace and Kyle Larson have a lot of history. The relationship between the two may be fairly amicable right now but the memories from Las Vegas in 2022 are yet to subside in most fans’ minds. So when a fan brought a life-sized cutout of Wallace at the expense of a Kyle Larson one, Bubba Wallace was not too unhappy about it. It is important to note that Wallace’s comments were all fun and games and there is no known beef between him and Larson as of now.
Bubba Wallace gets one over Hendrick Motorsports rival, finally
It did make for a hilarious conversation between Bubba Wallace and the fan. The 30-year-old seemed to be at an autograph signing event inside a store of some sort. When the fan came around the corner with a life-sized cut out of the 23XI Racing driver, he was quite pleased and nodded his head in approval. Wallace did however take issue with the cutout’s height though.

“That’s what’s up man. So they were gonna throw you and Larson away. I just took yours and left Larson,” the fan said to which Wallace replied, “Heck yeah.” He uploaded the video on his Instagram Stories, tagging Kyle Larson and writing “Sorry.” That’s not where it ended. In the next story, the 23XI Racing star was seen signing a Larson t-shirt, captioning it, “The @kylelarsonracin banter continues.”
Things between the two drivers have improved since Las Vegas. At Martinsville last week, the Hendrick Motorsports star edged the 23XI Racing driver for pole position by 0.001s in one of the closest battles for the pole in a long time. After the session, the two drivers had a brief word on the pit road.

Larson revealed that Wallace might have used language that was a little explicit but it was all in good fun. Both drivers always have a healthy respect towards one another no matter the on-track altercations. The two share another common ground, they are both graduates of NASCAR’s Drive for Diversity program. The HMS star’s comments post-qualifying at Martinsville proved that things are fine between the two for now.

“I think he just, I think he said f you. No, it was, no, it was cool to get a pole but to edge Bubba out because he’s got a big personality I knew he would come up and say something on pit road. So, no, I think we do – although we’ve had our couple run-ins along the way, I think we do have a lot of respect for each other,” the 2021 Cup Series champion said.
