Reports: Denny Hamlin Looking to Do a Tyler Reddick With Kyle Busch for Michael Jordan’s NASCAR Team

Currently, the biggest talking point in the NASCAR Cup Series is Kyle Busch. To be more specific, since the departure of M&M’s, Busch is without a sponsor and his Joe Gibbs Racing seat is in danger.

Of course, Busch is keen to return to JGR, but there is a possibility that he may have to look elsewhere. In a recent podcast, NASCAR journalists, Jeff Gluck and Jordan Bianchi discussed Busch’s options.

Bianchi said, “I can’t speak for Denny, cause I don’t know. But I can say that I think that Denny is an owner who wants to win. He recognizes that you need to have Kyle as a difference maker.”

“Given an opportunity to get him, you get him. It’s kind of like the Tyler Reddick thing. Like ‘Hey, I’m going to snatch this guy up. I’ll figure it out later because he’s a winner and I want him in my car’.”

“Maybe you want a driver like that.”

What lies ahead for Kyle Busch in his Cup Series future?

Of course, the 2-time Cup Series champion has no dearth of options laid out for him. Among them, Joe Gibbs Racing will be eager to see him back in the #18 car, if only he can sort out the sponsorship issue.

Other suitors include Stewart-Haas Racing, which is one of the favorites to earn his signature. SHR makes sense because Aric Almirola revealed earlier this year that he was retiring from full-time racing.

However, there is a new curveball that has added itself to the mix. With Kurt Busch’s qualifying crash in Pocono putting him out of commission for multiple races, there is some doubt about his future.

So the big question is, will team co-owner Denny Hamlin swap out one Busch for another?
