During the NASCAR playoffs, every turn or every straightaway can end up becoming the very difference between victory and a crushing defeat of one’s championship hopes. And the reining Homestead winner Kyle Larson knows this all too well. After his recent dominant performance in Las Vegas that got him a berth in the Championship 4. Larson’s history at Homestead is undeniable. He boasts an impressive average finish of 2.5 since February 2020, with an incredible 204 laps led. He’s the defending champion of the track, and his strong track record speaks for itself. With speed and precision on his side, the Hendrick Motorsports driver is a prime contender for back-to-back victories on the track. However, the unassuming driver, known for his confidence, recently revealed that he has intentionally avoided getting in the way of this Stewart Haas Racing driver this season.

Kevin Harvick, a former champion, with fond memories of the Homestead-Miami Speedway, is in the final stretch of his illustrious career. The 2014 champion, Harvick, cherishes this track for personal reasons, having celebrated his championship with his family there. Adding to the anticipation, Budweiser is also bringing back an iconic paint scheme for Harvick’s #4 Stewart Haas Racing car, a nod to his glorious past.

Larson’s candid admission came during a conversation with Jordan Bianchi. He explained, “He’s [Kevin Harvick] probably on his Zero F**ks Given Tour, so I didn’t want to be on the receiving end of anything.” This statement, shared by Jeff Gluck on social media, left NASCAR fans intrigued.

As Kevin Harvick’s longtime crew chief, Rodney Childers prepares for Harvick’s final few races, he finds himself caught up in a wave of nostalgia. Childers can’t help but look back at the unforgettable 2014 championship-winning race at Homestead-Miami, a career-defining moment for the driver and the entire team.

Childers vividly recounted that weekend, describing it as “perfect,” in every sense. The teamwork was exceptional, and the confidence within Stewart-Haas Racing was palpable. Childers was nostalgic as he told SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, “I remember every minute of that whole weekend, pushing through tech and the grid, the calls in the race, it just stuck in my head, I’ll never forget it, and it was just an amazing weekend, so much confidence from so many people in Stewart-Haas and the engine shop and everything.

What made the 2014 championship weekend stand out was the unwavering belief within the team. Childers recalled, “It’s like we never doubted it one time. Right from the time we left the shop to the races. We never doubted whether we were going to win the championship or not.”

However, he thinks that they have never been able to repeat that kind of dominant performance. “I don’t think that ever happened again. You know when we went down there the next year. I remember thinking, I don’t think we brought enough. And obviously, we didn’t. It’s just a weekend that is etched in our minds. Just so much fun and hopefully we can go down there and have a little fun this weekend and replay some of that.”
