Earlier, as the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at the Bristol Motor Speedway wrapped up, all of the teams packed up and were ready to head back to their workshops before the next race. For the SS-Green Light Racing team, there was a hairy moment for their #08 hauler while it was on its way to Charlotte.
So one of the haulers in the NASCAR Xfinity Series was nearly involved in an accident on the way back to Charlotte last night, the 08 hauler driven by "Captain Ron" avoided some knucklehead who either dozed off or was paying attention to his phone too much. pic.twitter.com/oa8yjjR5rR

Sometime during the night, the hauler driver, fondly nicknamed ‘Captain Ron’ was forced to take evasive action on the road. This was because another hauler ahead of him swerved into his lane.

Luckily, a collision was avoided and ‘Captain Ron’ even let out a cheer afterward. Beyond that, it can be assumed that the hauler reached its destination safely. Soon, it will be on its way to the Texas Motor Speedway for the first Playoff race.
How did NASCAR fans react to the incident?
A few people acknowledged that the incident was pretty scary and were glad that everyone was safe. Some guessed that the swerving driver was either dozing off or checking their phone while driving. Admittedly, it isn’t known whether the other driver was dozing or on their phone, but those two were the usual suspects.
Looks to me like he's the one that nearly caused the accident. You can see a truck parked on the shoulder that the other truck moves out of the way from. Brake lights for miles and he keeps going? Reckless driving.

Why do you think he moved into the left lane?
There was no need for the other truck to swerve.

It seems to me old captain Ron was driving without situational awareness! As you can clearly see in the video there is a vehicle on the side of the road and in a rare show of awareness the one truck slows and merges over, but captain unaware Ron just comes flying up.

Seems like he almost caused the accident. Very clear too see brake lights and he kept speeding along.

Interestingly though, a fair number of people seemed to blame Captain Ron for almost causing the collision. Few people observed that there was another truck parked on the shoulder and the swerving hauler was trying to avoid it.
They also said that the hauler had clearly used its brake lights, while Ron just kept his foot on the throttle
Looking at it again, its another big rig that is parked half way in the slow lane and the emergency lane.

There’s a truck parked on the shoulder. The truck ahead swerved to avoid hitting it. Also why there’s brake lights ahead. People were slowing down and moving over.

He was guessing one of the two because usually that’s what happens

Needless to say, it was still a close call and everyone must be thankful that there was no contact. After all, it can be very dangerous on the roads, and accidents can happen at any time.

There have been a few occasions where the haulers have had a couple of accidents, like fires or a blown tire. Actual accidents may also have been possible, but as long as no harm has come to anyone or the equipment, things are fine.
