The NASCAR Cup Series racing juggernaut moves to Homestead-Miami this weekend. Among the many drivers targeting a race win is Kyle Larson, who would want to get off to a winning start in 2021.
Joining Hendrick Motorsports this season, the No.5 has weighty expectations to shoulder because of his racing ability. However, going into this particular race, Larson feels he has a great chance on the 1.5 mile-circuit owing to his past track record.
Larson stated, “Yeah I’ve had a lot of success, I guess I didn’t realize that I hadn’t won at one. But Homestead especially is probably my best track, if you look at my stats and stuff with laps led and things like that.”

Hopefully I’ll have a ‘ton of speed’, said Kyle Larson
“So, definitely excited to get to Homestead, and it being a day race I think too benefits me. Remember they used to have the final race there, that’d kinda go into the night and that seemed to be when I would, or the rest of the competition would catch up to me.”
NASCAR fans would remember that the Homestead-Miami has played host to some sensational Championship 4 races in the past. But with the ongoing circumstances, this move to the regular season now offers Larson a chance to get his first Cup win in a long time.

“So with being there in the day, hopefully, I’ll have a ton of speed and it’d be nice to get a win there. I think we have a really good shot,” concluded Larson.

The No.5 driver has achieved three stage wins and three top-five finishes in the Cup Series during his time with Chip Ganassi Racing. Further back in the 2015 Xfinity Series season, he won a race at Homestead-Miami, while also notching two top-five finishes in as many occasions.
Undoubtedly, his expertise with short and dirt tracks will come in handy, in addition to his experience in the division. A victory for Larson will also help Hendrick Motorsports inch a bit closer to the all-time race wins record.
