Later, during the post-qualifying interview, the future 23XI bound driver stated, “I’ll figure out what to do, but until then I’m just gonna keep doing my job.”
“The task at hand and that’s what we did today. Got pole, we were fast in practice for a lot of different measures so.”
“If I was pretty bored during the week and didn’t have a lot going on, wasn’t spending a lot of time trying to prepare, it’d be easy to get distracted right and give that some and something in your mind some of your attention.”
“But for me, thankfully I stay real busy with my team. We got a lot on our mind right here, doing stuff like this, bringing fast race cars so didn’t even have time to let that in my head.”

Back in 1976, Richard Childress used to be the driver for his very own team. However, later on, he passed the baton to the legendary Dale Earnhardt and Ricky Rudd. Out of all the seven championships won by Dale Earnhardt, he won a staggering six of them with RCR.
Ever since Earnhardt’s departure and subsequent death, the Cup series team has not seen the light of another championship win. With Tyler Reddick this year, the team has got two race wins.

Even though it is widely known that Richard Childress is probably still upset over Reddick’s decision to leave the team in 2024, Childress needs to look on the brighter side and get past his anger as, in the near future, the only way RCR could even hope for a championship to come their way would be to let Tyler Reddick remain and score points and win races for the team.
