Justin Marks had always been clear about his partnership with Pitbull. When rumors spread in 2024 about the rapper leaving Trackhouse Racing, Marks was quick to shut them down. He called out unreliable media sources for spreading false claims and assured fans that Pitbull was staying. “Every single element to the stories of my friend and partner @pitbull leaving Trackhouse are materially untrue,” Marks stated on X.

However, months after Marks’s statement, reality took an unexpected turn. Ahead of the 67 running of the Daytona 500, Rapper turned NASCAR team owner Pitbull made an announcement that caught the entire industry off guard.

Is everything good at Trackhouse Racing?

Just hours before NASCAR’s biggest race of the year, Pitbull delivered news that no one saw coming. The Grammy-winning artist, who had been a co-owner of Trackhouse Racing since 2021, officially cut ties with the organization. While fans were preparing for his pre-race concert at Daytona International Speedway, the American Rapper announced his decision on social media.

Ending partnership with Trackhouse Racing. Over the past five years, we’ve made history by introducing NASCAR to a whole new audience and falling in love with NASCAR fans at the same time. We have made the decision to terminate the partnership with Trackhouse Racing, effective immediately. We’re looking forward to performing on the sport’s biggest stage this Sunday, the Daytona 500. It is a true honor, Dale!” Pitbull wrote on X.

Notably, in early 2024, there were indications that Pitbull might part ways with the team. Signs of changes surfaced when the team partnered with Avenue Sports Fund. Additionally, Justin Marks X’s bio suddenly changed from co-owner to owner fuelling the speculations. However, Marks quickly dismissed the rumors, but something was shifting behind the scenes.

Pitbull set to rock at the Daytona 500!

Despite leaving Trackhouse Racing, Pitbull is not stepping away from NASCAR entirely. He will have a major presence at the Daytona 500. The Grammy-winning artist will headline the pre-race concert at Daytona. His performance will set the tone for the Great American Race. Notably, this isn’t his first time in the spotlight at Daytona. He previously served as the grand marshal in 2021 and was scheduled to perform in 2024 before weather disrupted the show.

While this year’s weather forecast isn’t promising as well, NASCAR has decided to make some changes. The organizing body has decided to start the event an hour before the scheduled time to avoid any delays. This might also help Pitbull to make his first live music appearance at the biggest racing event.

Apart from him, Hollywood actor and Marvel’s new Captain America Anthony Mackie will also join the event. He will serve as the Grand Marshal of the race and will give iconic starting command to the grid. He will be accompanied by film producer Alan Ritchson, who will pace the field as the honorary pace car driver. There are also rumors that US President Donald Trump could also attend the event.
