Danica Patrick’s younger sister Brooke played a pivotal role in encouraging her to pursue a career in IndyCar. It was through Brooke that Danica got her first taste of racing when she had the opportunity to drive a go-kart.

The experience ignited a passion for racing in both sisters, and their parents supported their interest. At the age of ten, Danica Patrick took hold of a racing go-kart and embarked on her racing journey.

Despite facing unexpected twists and turns along the way, Patrick found her path in the racing world. She credits her younger sister for initiating her career in IndyCar. In a recent Instagram post featuring a group of photos at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Danica captioned the photo, “I put the picture with my sister first, since the racing thing was her idea when we were 8 and 10 years old.”
