The recent skirmish, known as “Punchgate” involving Ross Chastain and Noah Gragson, has created a buzz in the NASCAR community. In an unfortunate turn of events for Gragson, his attempt to teach Chastain a lesson ended with him being struck across the face. As security intervened immediately after Chastain’s punch, several spectators questioned the timing of their intervention.

Moreover, Kyle Busch and Tyler Reddick, fellow drivers, recently weighed in on the incident.

Busch then led the charge to implement a hockey-inspired fighting rule in NASCAR. Later on, Reddick also emphasized giving an equal opportunity for both parties involved in the confrontation.

Kyle Busch promotes hockey-inspired fighting in NASCAR

During a press conference, as per NASCAR Journalist Dave Moody, Busch stated, I would seriously encourage NASCAR to go with some hockey rules (about fighting).

Reddick expressed his perspective to Pockrass, stating, “It’s kind of a bummer that it got broken up when it did. If you are going to break it up really early. Break it as soon as he puts his hands on Ross. Don’t wait for someone to throw the first punch. And then the guy that gets hit or misses by the first punch does have a chance to throw another one back.”
