However, it’s also crucial for drivers to keep their cool and avoid letting their anger get the best of them, especially on the track. During a recent Denny Hamlin podcast, he was asked by his co-host about how he controls his anger. Citing the example of the Martinsville incident with Alex Bowman. The 23XI Racing team co-owner wasted no time jumping straight in for an answer.

Hamlin responded, “When something negative happens to me after a race, I’m quiet for a while. And then halfway midflight, I’ll start to open up and start to vent. And I need you guys to have my back… Just for the record, I have reprimanded Jared at times on my social…”
“There are times we have where I’m pissed off at the situation and Jared is trying to do his job on the social side. Put out the content, and I’m like, Jared, no I’m not trying to be funny publicly right now. I want them to know I’m pissed.”
“We are not gonna comment with any kinda, you know, snarky comment. We are not gonna you know laugh it off. Even my crew chief will say to me, how are you not pissed? I’m like, I am pissed. That was Jared’s work,” Hamlin continued.

Denny Hamlin had been spun out by a loose Alex Bowman during the race. After that, Hamlin found his car’s tail facing the safer barriers and the race was pretty much done for him. But that did not mean he was done with Bowman. In a fit of rage, Hamlin waited for the race to get over.
Furthermore, as Bowman’s car started pulling towards the start-finish line, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver slid in with his car and blocked Bowman’s way. Sensing the vibe, Bowman decided to sping his car around and face Hamlin eye to eye, or let’s say nose to nose with each other’s cars.

Right after that, both cars started pushing their cars against each other for a brief while. It was only after Hamlin got a message from his crew chief that he stopped and moved ahead.
