Bubba Wallace reveals how he is tackling his biggest enemy
Those familiar with the works of Friedrich Nietzsche would surely remember the lines, “But the worst enemy you can meet will always be yourself.” And the #23 Camry driver tends to do that on more than one occasion. And he himself revealed in an interview with the People.
The 23XI Racing driver, in his sixth year as a full-time Cup series driver, has surely learned a lot in the process. However, the road to winning is seldom easy, and Wallace knows it all too well. Despite constant hate hurled at him, the driver has surely proved his worth, and it all lies in the fact that he loves to challenge himself. But things do go south when he takes too much than his plate can afford.
While it is usually appreciated to create one’s own mental targets and fulfilling or rather surpass those targets. Nevertheless, things might not be in the correct tide and go haywire. And apparently, this is what Bubba Wallace goes through when things become erratic. He acknowledges this fact in his interview and asserts that he is trying to mend this habit of his. He reveals the fact, he can “be really hard on himself.”
He also adds that “I’m always combative with myself mentally each and every moment. I’m going to go play golf after I finish up here and that is the absolute worst place where I am the hardest on myself.”

While trials and tribulations are a part and parcel of life, Bubba Wallace feels he has been a bit too harsh on himself. “I’ve just been really hard on myself and I really set the expectations high, and I hold myself to that level. I think that’s okay, but you got to manage the expectations at certain times,” he claims.
Earlier, he had even revealed in his docu-series how he suffers from self-doubt and anxiety.
He had also voiced his concern and asked to be replaced after he failed to gain a position in the race at the Circuit of the Americas. He bemoaned after his early exit, “Two weeks in a row of making rookie mistakes six years into Cup? Need to be replaced!”

With team owners like Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin, Wallace has the biggest supporters on his team. And he is taking baby steps toward changing that habit of his. As things are finally falling back to their places, and changing for the best, Bubba Wallace is ready to stride once again on the tracks of NASCAR.
