In the 2022 NASCAR Cup season, Ross Chastain has joined the 2-win club. The only other member in the 2022 season is Hendrick Motorsports driver William Byron. However, despite his good form this season, some believe that it may not last very long. Although he has qualified for the Playoffs, it is quite possible that, that is as far as he will go this year. Recently, NASCAR analyst Nate Ryan spoke about the Trackhouse Racing driver.

He said, “I still think no, and I’ll go to what Justin Marks was saying post-race. He was very much saying, ‘Look, we’re still taking this race by race, week by week. We’re not even looking at the Playoffs, we’re not talking Playoffs’. Even though Ross Chastain is very much locked in. Now being one of two guys with two wins, he’s almost locked to advance through the first round.”

“I still think the lack of experience there and the fact that Trackhouse is still a relatively new team. We’ve kind of seen powerhouse teams kind of build towards the second half. I still feel like he’s not locked to make the Championship 4.”

What lies ahead for Ross Chastain?

At the moment, the #1 Trackhouse Racing driver sits in 9th place in the championship. He does not have to worry, as he is already qualified for the Playoffs. So the Trackhouse Racing team does not have anything to worry about. Though it would be a huge bonus if teammate Daniel Suarez would somehow book his seat in the Playoffs.

Suarez currently sits in 19th place, with a season-best finish of 4th at the Auto Club Speedway and at Atlanta. Fortunately for him, there is still some time to get him into the Playoffs. Ross Chastain has now proven, twice, that the car is capable of winning races. So the pressure may be on Daniel Suarez to emulate his teammate.
