During the podcast, the conversation shifted towards the new car discussed a few years prior during its testing phase and impending release. The hosts inquired about the promised cost savings that NASCAR had touted as a major feature of the new car.
In response, Chris Rice expressed that the sport is still a few years away from fully realizing those cost savings. “Now, we’re still a couple of years from it. I think we’re still trying to learn. You know, we’ve done some testing, we’ve actually done some testing for the guys to try to make the race better.
“So I still think we’re a couple of years from it. I’m still gonna go on record and say, it will help us. It is gonna help us. It has equalized the racing. I think some organizations or some OEMs find some advantages”, he further added.
“Like I would say, Roush Fenway right now has found something that is probably not illegal. They just found advantages of whether, you know, that floor needs to be a certain spot or something because they just all of a sudden became competitive. We found an advantage. We went from running dead last at the first part of the year to where now we compete 10th to 15th.” Rice went on to illustrate.
As the checkered flag waves during the regular season, RFK Racing stands as a testament to the unfaltering spirit of the underdog. In the shadow of the giants, when the Cup season commenced, team Brad Keselowski orchestrated an awe-inspiring dynamic shift.
