Dale Earnhardt Jr is a sucker for great racing stories and not always do they have to be an on-track happening that captures his attention. Just like the kind man Dale Jr is, he didn’t forget to shower his appreciation on the aged individual for his commitment.

Other fans shared anecdotes of other sim racers that continued racing on a virtual platform despite their old age.
“I wonder how many of us older sim racers remember hckynut from the old Sierra/Papyrus forums. Dude was pushing 80 back in the late 90s. I’m sure the odds of him still being around are low, but that dude was by far the elder statesman of sim racing,” one fan commented.
Furthering the discussion, another fan wrote: “I know of an 82 yr old on @iRacing that is currently leading the points in their league and these guys are very good.”
