The future is now uncertain for John Hunter Nemechek. As it turns out, the 23-year-old is not re-signing with Front Row Motorsports for the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season.
When the current campaign ended, he raced in the FRM’s No. 38 Ford. It is also worth noting that Nemechek was just a rookie in 2020 and ended the year in 27th place. Despite this, he has recorded at least three top-10 finishes in the recently concluded season. In fact, his best finish was an eighth-place at Talladega Superspeedway, in the two times that the Cup Series made landfall there.
“I’m so thankful for the chance that Bob Jenkins, Jerry Freeze, and all our partners took on myself this past season,” Nemechek said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the 23-year old Nemechek will also be keen to hunt for a drive. The seats are filling up very quickly in the Cup series, with barely a handful left. If he wishes to stick with Ford, the BJ McLeod team could be a good option in the #78 car. Other candidates are JTG Daughtery, Spire Motorsports, Petty Ware Racing, and Rick Ware Racing.
Finally, he also announced that his future plans will become clearer in the near future. Additionally, FRM’s own plans will also be unclear in the wake of the departure. So the team also announced that their plans would also be brought to light, very soon.

This leaves a number of parties in a conundrum, as FRM is left with two seats to fill, namely the #34 and #38. Of course, there are chances that Michael McDowell could return for the 2021 season in the #34 car. However, the team now has to hunt for an occupant for the #38 car.
