As the 2022 Formula 1 season edges closer, teams are gearing up for it. The coming month is stacked with car launches ahead of the pre-season testing, and it’s also the time when the drivers head back to the gym after a well-earned holiday. This is the case with Max Verstappen as well.

But instead of being in a gym, the champion seems to be polishing his racing skills.

The Red Bull driver uploaded a story on his Instagram in which he is standing next to a track centric Porsche with the caption, “Waiting for my turn to drive be like.”

Verstappen had also tagged Alpha Tauri in his story.

This caught the attention of many fans for two separate reasons.

One was the Alpha Tauri tag, which led to some fans wondering if the Red Bull driver was making a move to the sister team in 2022.

Now, those suggestions would come to nothing because Alpha Tauri apparel is a sponsor of Verstappen, and him tagging the brand was probably directed to the jacket/coat he was wearing.

But the other reason the story is interesting, and the reactions worth considering, is simply because of the strong reports of Porsche becoming Red Bull’s engine supplier in 2026.

Fans react to Max Verstappen next to a Porsche

One fan wrote, “There were rumours that Porsche will join as Red Bull’s engine suppliers (or something like that). Could this be the start?”

While another went ahead and announced the news, “Porsche to Red Bull confirmed.” “RB car with P O R S C H E on the wing would look cool af,” another fan wrote.

A reaction read, “Sounds like Max might be getting ready for that potential Red Bull Porsche linkup in ’26.”

“Imagine Red Bull Porsche Tag-Heuer,” wrote another.

Although it should be mentioned, the Porsche in the story could very well be from Verstappen’s personal collection, which brings us to the fact (for now) that Red Bull joining hands with Porsche is nothing more than rumors and reports.

So until there’s an official announcement comes to light, all of us can expect fans to jump to conclusions whenever the Red Bull man poses with a Porsche (or an Audi).
