Despite him flaunting a blazing-fast Toyota, an unforeseen turn of events ended the day early for 23XI Racing speedster Bubba Wallace. When Bubba completed Stage 1, almost winning it, murmurs went on about the fair chances of the Alabama native repeating his 2021 Kansas victory. However, very few things are under your control, and for Bubba, a puncture in his left rear wheel was the root of his playoff misery.
20 laps in the race, Bubba Wallace was giving the then-leader Kyle Larson and runner-up Christopher Bell, a good run for their money. He displayed superb prowess as he cleared Bell and moved up to the second spot by lap 24. But things did not smoothen out for him in Stage 2. Nevertheless, his wife Amanda Wallace, along with the NASCAR fandom, stood with the disappointed driver and consoled him.

The relationship between Bubba Wallace and his wife Amanda is one worth being jealous of. After he qualified for the first time in the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs, he revealed how his wife used to put up with him and sustain him. And that is exactly what an ideal partner does; they stand by your side no matter what.
After cementing his spot in the playoffs, Bubba spoke about how he felt sorry for putting his Amanda through all that stress. ?I?m just relieved. I apologized to my wife all week,? said Bubba Wallace. ?I haven?t been myself. I?ve been stressing. Thankful that we are in it. That is the most calm I?ve ever been.?
?My wife, she puts up with me during the stressful times? I just totally wasn?t myself so, sorry babe. I was just focused on trying to get us in and pay for the house you want,? he added with a smile.
Fast forward to this past weekend, after having a dim Kansas outing on Sunday, Bubba Wallace uploaded a few snaps from Kansas Speedway on his Instagram saying, “Had it till we didn?t. Not much you can complain about after having a rocket like yesterday?s, just plain ole luck skipping past us. Proud of @tyler_reddick for keeping the 45 streak alive!”
Seeing this, fans exclaimed that it was definitely not Bubba’s fault that his tire blew out. Luck is unpredictable. All we can do is make the best of whatever we receive each day. And that is what separates a champion from the crowd.
Someone said, “Nothing you can do about a puncture.”
Referring to the exclusive metallic gold color of his #23 car, someone commented, “The car was and look badass if it makes it any better . OFF TO BRISTOL”
On that very note, a fan wished him luck saying, “we had it that day. had a fast car all day until the tire situation. off to Bristol we go.”
Bubba has been showing a visible resurgence since his entry into the playoff rumble. Back in Darlington, he put up a top 10 finish and his supporters cannot stop singing praises. “Keep fighting Bubba your win is coming Brotha!!!,” said one.
While another exclaimed, “Your Day is On The Way King! #greatness #regardless”
Even Amanda Wallace cheered up her husband and wrote, “Speeeeddddyy.” Here is Bubba’s post that he put up in Instagram.

Safe to say, Sunday was great for his teammate Tyler Reddick. The #45 driver secured his first win at Kansas and, by doing so, seized his sure pass to the round of 12, regardless of his performance at Bristol next week.
Although everyone, including owner Denny Hamlin, showered praises for Tyler Reddick and crew chief Billy Scott for the victory and the ingenious 4-tire change strategy, Bubba Wallace had something unusual to say about his teammate.

Wallace finished P32 in the Hollywood Casino 400 after the right-rear tire of his ride blew out. Spinning out, he scraped the outside wall around turns 1 and 2 in the 108th of the 268 lap-long race. Despite the mishap, Bubba Wallace drove down the pit road, got his car fixed, and finished the race four laps down. Bubba now sits 14th in the playoff standings.
During a post-race interview, Bubba Wallace spoke to Parker Kligerman about how unexpected the blowback was. He admitted, “I got loose like 5 laps before but I realized that was kind of my line and my approach to exit turn 4. And then 3 or 4 laps later, it blew out. No indication going into one.”
Bubba acknowledged that he was pissed at himself for not being closer to the fence. He felt like the damage would have been less had it been so. However, you can’t really determine the course of an accident, can you?
“You’re never gonna get a flat tire or blow a tire when you’re running 20th, you’re gonna get it when you’re really fast,” he added.
The 29-year-old expressed his happiness for Reddick’s win. “Congrats to Tyler! I’m pumped for him for sure,” he said.
But then he said Tyler looked a bit perplexed when Bubba Wallace drove close to him. Little did he realize that Bubba was only trying to help him out. Bubba ran his fingers through his hair and laughed, “I was running him down and then he got a little sketched out that I was close to him. I was trying to help him; he is a little mental case sometimes.”
