With all said and done, another race weekend comes to a conclusion. The race at Pocono Raceway has surely been one of the most awaited races of this season, owing to the incidents that occurred on the same track last year. Whether it was the horrific wreck by Kurt Busch, that pushed him out and sidelined him from the world of NASCAR due to concussion, or the unexpected win by Hendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott, races at the ‘Tricky Triangle’ has always been captivating.

Nevertheless, Sunday’s race at Pocono was no less captivating than the past year. The race had all the elements that every NASCAR fan could ask for; wrecks, shoving out of contention, and also an unexpected win. However, the incident that grabbed the most attention was the incident between Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin, just a few laps before the chequered flew. The incident surely angered Kyle Larson as he expressed his disapproval of Hamlin‘s conduct.

In the first half of the race, it was Team Penske driver Joey Logano who had put upon a brave fight as he went on to win Stage 1. However, everything seemed to take a turn down south as Logano was ousted from the track after being embroiled in a wreck that forced him to retire from the race. The race, which witnessed multiple restarts due to wrecks, finally led to a conclusion as Hamlin collected his second victory of the season.

But it seems that not all fans are happy with the result due to the incident between Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin, which took place with just seven laps to go out of 160 Laps of the race. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver barreled for the lead and raced on the inside of the speedster of Hendrick Motorsports. The No.11 Chevrolet driver nudged and shoved Larson to the wall, and eventually made the winning pass and secured his victory.

It was surely a happy affair for Denny Hamlin to secure his 50th career victory. However, Kyle Larson was seemingly burning in rage after the move made cost him his position. In the post-race interview, Larson expressed to NBC Sports, “He is always right, all the buddies know, Denny is always right so I am sure he was right in there as well. But it is what it is I cannot let it tarnish our friendship on track, but I am pi*sed, and I feel like I should be pi*sed.”

He also added, “I never had to apologize to him for anything, I have done on the racetrack, I can count four or five times where he has reached out to me, ‘Oh, man I am sorry I put you in a bad spot. Eventually, you start racing people a certain way to get the respect back. I mean we pulled the same move on Ross last year which Ross quite deserved it, with all the stuff that he has done to Denny in his career, again I haven’t done that to Denny, so I don’t think I deserve to be run into before I got to the wall.”

The incident that Larson seems to refer to was the multiple incidents where Ross Chastain wrecked into Denny Hamlin and the controversial one being the wreck at Atlanta Motor Speedway, where Chastain clipped Hamlin and ousted him from the race.
