Hamlin stated, “Ty, I don’t know I think I have passed him about 20 times in the last two weeks. But he continues to beat me in results every week. So maybe I need to kind of look at that and figure out what I need to do. He was solid, wasn’t great, but he was solid.”

“And I think, you know, given his inexperience he’s just going to take this and continue to get better and better. And now we’re starting to see him, we’re off three straight top 10s in a row. That’s where we get for that team and his confidence.”

This season after the race at the Circuit of the Americas, Wallace had apparently had enough. The Alabama-born Cup Series driver apparently told the media that he should be “replaced” for making a “rookie mistake,” twice.

One can understand why would Wallace say something like this. The race at COTA saw a retirement for Wallace. However, the reason for his retirement was that he collided with his rival Kyle Larson. Last year in Las Vegas, the pair came together on the track. Later on, Wallace approached Larson and shoved him around before walking away.
