So, NASCAR is all set to host its annual awards in Nashville this week. Set in the music capital of the world, the ceremony is going to take place at the Music City Center on December 1, 2022. But instead of all the excitement that should have surrounded the announcement, NASCAR fans seemed disappointed with the governing body.

As soon as the sanctioning body announced the news of the awards, fans felt baffled by the streaming decision made by NASCAR. Apart from the live audience at the Music Center, fans can stream the ceremony at 8 pm ET on Peacock. But as it appears, this didn’t sit well with the NASCAR enthusiasts.
Most fans suggested that the sanctioning authority must allow USA Network to cover the event, streaming it on TV. Whereas, a few others said that it should be available live on a free platform like YouTube. Peacock currently offers various subscription plans for its users. With a $19.99/year plan for NASCAR fans and lovers.
However, it seems that not every NASCAR fan is keen on watching the races and other sport-related events on the streaming platform. Hence, the fans slammed the governing body on Twitter, accusing them of ‘pushing the streaming thing’ for money.
please post on You Tube after as I don't have $$$$Peacock$$$$$

Pushing this "streaming thing" more and more. I don't know if this is the right thing to do, unless you want to alienate more fans…

I’m sorry to say @NASCAR, but y’all have some pretty pissed off fan’s right now. Putting the #nascarawards on @peacock is entirely a stupid idea. A lot of fans won’t be able to watch it. It should be shown on @USA_Network .

No thank you. Guess I'll read the results online. Have a great night.

I hope they replay the ceremony on @USA_Network because I do not have @peacock.

It should be on TV! @USA_Network should carry it live!

Have a slight rise in viewership during the season just to kill it by putting the Awards on Peacock. Also being almost a month after the season too. pic.twitter.com/a61oB0pnUG

As some comments pointed out, the sport witnessed a rise in its viewership this season. And this means that a lot of new fans would love to be a part of a sport-related event like the awards ceremony. However, with its streaming decision, the sanctioning authority has to deal with the backlash of several angry fans. Such decisions will only make the sport more exclusive rather than inclusive.
Which rising music star will perform at the NASCAR Awards?
