Speaking ahead of the Cup race in Atlanta, Kyle Busch took a pretty firm stance after NASCAR penalized his ex-teammate, Denny Hamlin. Hamlin had moved Ross Chastain into the wall at Phoenix and later admitted to intentionally doing so.
NASCAR subsequently handed the Joe Gibbs Racing veteran a $50,000 ticket. And all of this opened the subject of racing with respect in the following days.
But Busch claimed there was none. He pointed towards the lost etiquette of racing that everyone once had for each other, but now it’s gone, and nobody cares for each other on track.

“We have completely lost any sense of respect in the garage area between drivers. At all. That’s where the problem lies. Nobody gives two s**ts about anybody else,” Busch said. “We’re all selfish, granted but there was an etiquette that once lived here.”
Fans hold Kyle Busch responsible for the lack of respect in NASCAR today
Many agreed with Busch’s statement on the loss of respect and etiquette in the garage area between drivers. However, a considerable number of NASCAR fans thought otherwise. They raised the point that the loss of respect Busch is talking about between the modern-day drivers, stemmed mostly from himself.
Those fans held Rowdy responsible for the state of the affairs in today’s NASCAR.
Honestly I’d say Kyle Busch was a part of why that doesn’t exist anymore

I agree but didn’t the Bush brother usher in this movement?

It sounds like @KyleBusch is talking about himself for most of the last 25 years. These are the guys that grew up watching him.

When asked what he would’ve done if he was in such a situation, Kyle Busch suggested that drivers should be “ethical” and “take responsibility” for their actions when they race and race hard.
Having said that, the two-time Cup champion also emphasized that if one is being revengeful, then one should expect bigger consequences on them.

“If you make a mistake, OK fine, I get it. When you intentionally drive over somebody because they made a move on you or something you didn’t like, then you get punched in the face afterward,” he claimed as per NBC Sports.
With that said, do you think the lack of mutual respect comment coming from Kyle Busch is a fair one? Or do you think he shouldn’t be the one talking about those things considering his past?
