Recently, Tony Stewart shared an interesting insight into his early days in the NASCAR cup series. He stated that he learned from some of the best old-school drivers such as Bobby Labonte, Dale Earnhardt Sr., Rusty Wallace, Dale Jarrett, Mark Martin, Jeff Burton, and Jeff Gordon. He also mentioned how he started out from a different stock car racing background, coming from the midgets and sprints.

In an interview with Chase Briscoe, Tony Stewart explained the mindset he had while entering the sport. He said, “Hey I’m coming into your world, I not coming in with an arrogant attitude. I need to learn the way things are done, and I relied on those guys and asked questions to those guys and I think that got me I think that got me started off on the right foot.”
“I adapted their style and etiquette of how to race, how to race each other respectfully.” Adding that, “It didn’t mean you couldn’t go out and race hard and race for wins.”
Tony says it’s not just about the big moves and crashing cars one has to race respectfully as well.
How the 2022 season has been for Stewart-Haas Racing so far?
With the NASCAR Cup Series reaching its halfway mark, with eight races remaining till the playoffs begin, Stewart-Haas is going through a season that is a bit of a disaster.

The 2022 campaign for the team has so far been one of the worst. Chase Briscoe is their only driver that currently qualifies for the playoffs at the moment, but even that remains in question as there are still a few races.

Meanwhile, the other three drivers are languishing at the bottom half of the table. Almirola has little chance to make it to the playoffs. Cole Custer hasn’t even been in the top 10 yet. And Kevin Harvick has been sitting without a win since 2020.
With this Sunday’s race at Atlanta, we hope Chase Briscoe can lunge up the table further, securing his playoff position. He currently has a playoff rank of 13th.
