Martin Truex Jr. will go to Kansas with 10 points under cutoff in the sixth position. Meanwhile, NASCAR’s championship-eligible drivers are down from sixteen at the start of the playoffs to eight. With the pressure on over the next three races, it remains to be seen which four drivers will advance to the championship race on November 8 at Phoenix Raceway.
And the picture will keep getting clearer with Kansas Speedway this Sunday, Texas Motor Speedway the Sunday after, and Martinsville Speedway for the third and final race.

Kevin Harvick will go into the race on Sunday as the top seed with nine(9) wins in thirty-two(32) races this year. He has managed a NASCAR-best 143 points in the first round, and 80 in the second.
While Denny Hamlin happens to be the only driver to make the playoff 10 times and not win a championship.
The 24-year-old Chase Elliott, who is making his fourth consecutive appearance in this NASCAR’s semifinal round version, will be raring to make it to the championship race as well.

The No. 19 Toyota Camaro driver will be looking to carry forward his form from a win at Martinsville, in particular, earlier in the year. Truex has four second-place and six third-place finishes to go with it.

“I feel like we are right there on the cusp of winning a couple in a row,” Truex said. “I think we are ready to roll … It’s that time of the year that we need to win,” he further added.
In 22 out of 32 races, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver has finished in the top-five in at least one of the opening two stages.
“We need to make something big happen, and I think that we are ready to make it happen,” said Martin Truex Jr.

Having led 768 laps this year, and 804 laps this time last year with a win six times, Martin Truex Jr. is presenting a strong candidature for himself in the championship.
