Despite being their weekly dose of entertainment, the NASCAR community including fans and enthusiasts are lately having a tough time, coping with all the debacles in Cup Series! Last week, the fraternity was stunned to hear Jimmie Johnson‘s Legacy Motor Club leaving its long-time partner Chevrolet for Toyota for its 2024 season!

The news came out as a shock for many enthusiasts as the 7-time champion is closely associated with Chevy for the past 20 years, earning him major titles.

Recently, NASCAR’s popular Dirty Mo Media podcast, Door Bumper Clear had the hot topic for grabs. While the hosts discussed the subject, 23Xl Racing spotter Freddie Kraft uncovered the real intent of Chevrolet letting the champ leave their side while Kaulig Racing teammate, Brett Griffin also chimed in on the topic revealing his thoughts on Johnson joining Toyota who recorded a whopping $281.7 billion revenue for 2022.

23Xl Racing spotter Freddie Kraft doubles down on Chevy as he reveals the disheartening scenes inside their practice camp

Well, the community is certainly frustrated over the legend leaving the manufacturer. His friend, Brett Griffin made his point, mentioning Johnson’s significance. Bubba Wallace’s spotter, Freddie Kraft has been in the game for quite some time. Previously serving in RPM(Richard Petty Motorsports), the spotter had some interesting yet infuriating incidents to reveal.

Much like the community’s sentiment, Kraft is also very much shaken by the sudden switch, during the spot-on, spot-off segment, he said, 100% spot off for them for letting him go,” further the enthusiast takes us through one Chevy practice camp, mentioning the careless attitude bluntly, and I have been in these, meetings also where they, they’ll tell you to practice Daytona and Talladega, they’d say Okay guys, we’re gonna go out in a line Chevy cars are gonna be 10 12 deep, it’s gonna be all Hendrick(Hendrick Motorsports) cars, all RCR cars and they go.”

“you guys line up at the back and figure it out however you want like we literally dont care what you guys do and they’d be the same thing like if we could if we could push one of these Hendrick cars or one of these RCR cars to the win or stage win that’s what we need to do, like and you’re like, okay well f**k off you know, alright thanks a lot,” said Kraft.

While Kraft voiced his displeasure, his close friend and fellow spotter, Brett Griffin tuned in as he laid out his points, also mentioning his thoughts.

With Jimmie Johnson moving on with Toyota, Brett Griffin joins Kraft as he reflects on the GOAT’s decision!

Joining his co-host Casey Boat, TJ Majors, and Freddie Kraft on the popular podcast, the Kaulig spotter shared his take on the subject, mentioning the gravity of the situation, and citing Johnson’s departure from his longtime association with the manufacturer.  He also didn’t agree with Chevrolet’s decision to let Johnson go.

Reflecting on the driver’s greatness, racking up numerous victories across various divisions in different timelines, Griffin also apologized to Johnson for the typo error that cost him a few bumps from fans as he shared his displeasure with the Chevy.

Further, the spotter shares the win-win situation for both parties, “If you want to be the priority, you got to be a key partner and if he switches to Toyota, clearly he feels like he’s gonna be a key partner, real quick on the Toyota side, win-win for them.”
