Kyle Busch didn’t mince his words when he visited ESPN’s Pat McAfee Show on Friday—in fact, he might have started quite a beef with quite a few fellow drivers. Or the entire pack as he said, “I don’t have faith on any of em,” when asked about his trust in fellow drivers to race responsibly at breakneck speeds.
And who can blame him? With five wrecks in just seven races, including a recent run-in with LaJoie at Pocono, Busch’s frustration is understandable. But that’s not all – he also spilled the tea on what he thinks about Ricky Stenhouse Jr, revealing a surprising nickname he’s coined for his rival.

Kyle Busch is clearly on the worst stretch of his career. There was a time he was sweeping weekends, racing at all three series of NASCAR–Truck, Xfinity, and Cup and earning accolades in all of them. But cut to now, he hasn’t even made it to the playoffs. And at this point last year, he had three wins and was in a comfortable position to battle for the championship. It is fair to say that Busch’s current form makes a win seem like a distant dream. Even Kevin Harvick agreed in his podcast—a win seems far off the horizon.
Kyle Busch’s dismal season took a further hit after the North Wilkesboro race, where an on-track incident with Ricky Stenhouse Jr ended in flying fists. The confrontation was sparked when Busch’s actions left Stenhouse Jr’s car beyond repair, forcing him to retire from the race. However, the incident was not a one-sided affair. Earlier in the race, Stenhouse Jr had made contact with Busch on the first lap, nudging him into the wall. Busch retaliated on the very next lap, leaving Stenhouse Jr’s car severely damaged and forcing him to retire. The altercation ended with Kyle Busch receiving a punch from his rival.
Busch chose to talk about the incident and his dynamics with Ricky Stenhouse Jr on ESPN’s Pat McAfee Show. And he even shared the nickname he gave Stenhouse Jr — “Wrecky Spinhouse.” Well, Busch even clarified the reason behind the nickname, saying the JGT Daugherty Racing driver just wrecks a lot. He didn’t just wreck Busch in the All-Star race; he had done it earlier as well. Busch recounted and said, “But there was another race a few years earlier where we were racing at Daytona, and just out of nowhere, he gets into my left rear and spins me out and crashes me.”
But mostly Kyle Busch was shocked by the retaliation that Wrecky Spinhouse showed in the All-Star race. Because to him, it was all good in the hood between them, so the punches by Stenhouse Jr came as a surprise. And he revealed the double face of Stenhouse Jr. Busch said that Stenhouse Jr had actually got a motorhome for himself from him and so the relations were supposed to be cordial if they could not be the best of friends. Not only that, but they also hung out together at a Cirque du Soleil show in Charlotte one night. Busch said on ESPN’s Pat McAfee Show, “Yeah, I mean, we’re all hanging out, we’re all friends, we’re all having a good time, and then all of a sudden, now I’m getting punched in the face.” He did seem disappointed that Stenhouse Jr did a 360 on him.
However, Busch has now reached his breaking point and is no longer willing to tolerate any further disrespect from anyone.

Kyle Busch has had five crashes in the last seven races, this itself shows the dire condition of Kyle Busch. On the show, he even mentioned how they didn’t have a good enough car and sadly wondered if he was just slow and getting trampled on. However, despite his struggles on the track, Busch remains true to his nickname, ‘Rowdy.’ He recently gave a warning to Corey LaJoie, promising payback for LaJoie’s aggressive move at Pocono. This would make Denny Hamlin glad because it was just a few days earlier that Hamlin was talking about how he cannot recognize the Busch of today attitude-wise. By this statement, Busch just gave everyone a glimpse that he still is the Rowdy fans know him as.
Last week at Pocono, Corey LaJoie blatantly wrecked Busch, and as per some fans, he looked almost like a bully on track. After the race, LaJoie in fact said it wasn’t a “bonehead move.”! Although he changed his statements later. Kyle Busch touching on the incident said LaJoie is a liar because he changed his story plenty of times. Busch said to McAfee. “I didn’t even reach back out because he changed his story four times, so I’m like, you’re just a liar. You wrecked me. Like, I get it. It’s fine, whatever. Payback’s coming.”
Right now Busch sits 102 points below the elimination line and just five regular-season races are left. Only a win can help in this scenario. But the chances seem slim and Busch says, “Our cars have not been that great right now. We’re working on it. We’ve come to a lot of things of what we’re kind of learning about and figuring out.
