Most drivers in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs contention are nervous of racing on the upcoming tracks in the Round of 12. Particularly the Talladega Superspeedway and The Roval at Charlotte, which are the 2nd and 3rd races this round. Chase Elliott even said he expects to crash at Talladega.
However, Hendrick Motorsports’ Alex Bowman has expressed a different feeling. Bowman starts the second round of the Playoffs just four points above the cutoff spot. He believes the upcoming tracks are some of his best.
“We’re in a good spot. We’re going to some race tracks that are notoriously really good for us, compared to where we’ve been over the last couple of weeks. I’m really confident. We should be really good,” Bowman said during a media interaction.

Why Alex Bowman feels confident ahead of the next round
Statistically, there is not much going in Bowman’s favor to be able to beat the odds. He finished 16th in the previous race at Bristol and has just one Top-5 finish in his last 10 races. He also never had a Top-5 at Las Vegas, which is the next venue.
However, he finished in the Top-10 in the opening two playoff races at Darlington and Richmond. He said he never expected much at Richmond. And at Bristol, where he finished 16th, he looked good for a Top-5 finish. At Darlington, he missed the Top-5 by one spot.
“Darlington went really well for us. Richmond we knew was our weak point of the playoffs. And Bristol was gonna be a solid top-5 night until we had that tire issue,” Bowman expressed.
“The last couple of weeks I think we’ve been really strong. Darlington had an issue on pit road that cost us the top-5. We still finished 6th,” he added.

The next race at Las Vegas this Sunday will see changes in the right-side tires of the cars, giving them a better grip on a track that is known for its lack of grip.
Bowman declared that the tire will play a crucial role, and he is eager to see how the change works out in the hot and slick conditions that Vegas has to offer.
