Even though it has been 21 years, nobody has forgotten the tragedy that took place on September 11, 2001. This weekend, the NASCAR Cup race kicked off at the Kansas Speedway and it coincided with the anniversary of the tragic attack.
Naturally, many NASCAR fans took to Twitter to pay tribute on this special day and weekend. For the community itself, it was already a tough year, considering that Dale Earnhardt passed away earlier that year. So the 9/11 terror attacks pretty much added to the devastation.

Obviously many NASCAR fans were in a patriotic mood on the day. Everyone knows that they will never forget that dark day in American history, and will continue to pay their tributes.
I was privileged to have heard the phone calls made from Flt 93, about 15 years ago. If you heard what people they were saying and how they said it you would never forgot about 9/11, ever! Yet political leaders, many Americans especially the young have forgot or never knew.

How did the NASCAR Cup race at the Kansas Speedway play out?
It is worth mentioning that the Kansas Speedway authorities had a special tribute planned. Over here, there was a display of dog tags from every service member who had joined the armed forces since 9/11. Coming to the race itself, it was Bubba Wallace who emerged victorious. This time though, he was driving the #45 car, having swapped his #23 car for the #45. The move was to ensure that the #45 car stood a chance of racking up points in the oener’s championship battle.
Wallace was pretty thrilled to win the race, especially on such an important day for America. Additionally, team owner and fellow Toyota driver, Denny Hamlin, was also pretty happy for him. Hamlin did his best to catch his driver but eventually had to settle for second place. Meanwhile, Bubba Wallace enjoyed his second career win in the NASCAR Cup Series.
