Podcasts have taken over the media world, with people spending hours and hours listening to their favorite topics, craving for more insights from industry experts and pundits. The NASCAR world isn’t much different. In fact, Dale Jr took the NASCAR nation by storm with his content company, Dirty Mo Media, which features multiple podcasts for ardent fans.

Junior’s podcast series is basically built on 3 pillars – one of his own, the Dale Jr Download co-hosted by his friend Mike Davis with the driver joining him along with special guests to share their insights. Another one is Dirty Mo Dough presented by Dale Jr’s former HMS crew chief and popular NBC pundit Steve Letarte, giving the community expert opinion with proper facts and accurate numbers. Well, who can forget Door, Bumper, Clear, hosted by veteran spotters Brett Griffin, T.J. Majors, and Freddie Kraft?

Then comes the topic of this discussion, Denny Hamlin’s Action Detrimental podcast, which arguably shot into fame when the driver openly admitted his intentions when he wrecked Ross Chastain in retaliation. Speaking to veteran Wallace, the JRM co-owner revealed how he roped in Hamlin for the venture.

He said, “I did not think Denny was going to be interested, we went and met with him and his team, we spelled it out in front of him and it’s like, look man, this is not a lucrative thing you’re not going to walk away you know rich off of doing podcasts that’s not what this is about.”

Instead of eyeing monetary benefits, Dale Jr calmly explained the sustainable revenue generation that these shows bring to the table. “You do a podcast to control the narrative, share your message anything in the world that you want to tell people about, you save it for your show and they get it exclusively right there from you. And you know you have a race team and all of these assets that you need to be telling people about that you want people to know about,” added the 49-year-old, mentioning how he brought Hamlin into the venture.

Ask any fan which is their favorite podcast series and the answer probably will be either one of Dirty Mo Media’s podcasts. Hamlin’s involvement and his straight approach along with Dale Jr’s vision have made Action Detrimental more of a brand involving various tie-ups. But before Hamlin agreed to partner up with him, Dale Jr approached the notorious 2-time Cup Series champion, Kyle Busch to do a podcast for his production.

He said, “We’ve had big conversations with Kyle Busch and other drivers about doing a podcast with us here at Dirty Mo Media, I’ve talked to (Ryan) Blaney a couple of years ago about his podcast, and if he’s going to continue to do it if he would ever move it to Dirty Mo Media so we’ve had this interest in having more drivers doing shows in our building.”
