Maybe you can buy your way into the Cup Series, but you can never buy the champion’s attitude. Well, this statement proves its strength as the NASCAR nation witnesses an alarming trend these days. Rather than being “a” factor, money has become “the” factor for young, rich kids to get what they want. Brett, in his podcast, was seen openly pointing toward Burton Jr.: Harrison. Brian Burton.

While veteran champion and Stewart-Haas Racing co-owner Tony Stewart strongly despises this idea of privilege over talent, this trend is slowly gaining momentum, and look no further than Stewart’s own team and you’ll certainly find perfect examples of this. Though this distressing aspect of the sport has been discussed several times, in the recent Door Bumper Clear podcast, hosts Brett Griffin and Freddie Kraft dived straight into it to expose the 22-year-old Xfinity sensation, Harrison Burton. The Kaulig Racing spotter had bold words for Jeff Burton’s son, urging him to take charge before it’s too late.

There’s an old proverb that goes – Experience is the best teacher, what she teaches she teaches thoroughly. Hours and hours of beating on one’s craft takes him to the realm of legends and this shortcoming is evident with the youngster, Harrison Burton’s Cup Career.

Though the 22-year-old is blessed with talent, his inexperience in the top division proves to be the game changer as he is often seen wrecking out of the race. Speaking on the latest DBC podcast, Griffin took a sharp turn when discussing about SHR’s future to cite young Burton’s Cup Series future. He said,I think Harrison Burton is also a good dude, comes from a great family, won 4 Xfinity races in one. season season,”

“I know he is better than where he is running you know. Is this guy going out there to compete and won a Cup championship? No. Not at this point of his career but he can’t go out there and continue to wreck at lap 10 or in Stage 1 or halfway through. He has got to finish these races or he is gonna be in trouble, big trouble and I don’t mean trouble like losing the #21 ride lie he will be in trouble in terms of nobody’s gonna watch him,” said the spotter, issuing a major warning to the youngster to seize the moment rather than letting it go.

Coming out of turn 2, the #21 Ford lost traction and slid sideways until it hit the inner wall, coming to a stop. Fortunately for Burton, it was veteran Denny Hamlin who was just behind the #21 car. The experienced Joe Gibbs Racing driver did a fantastic job of avoiding a head-on collision with the Ford and slipped right, saving Burton from a disaster.
