Recently, Noah Gragson made an appearance on the Door Bumper Clear podcast. He spoke about the recent calls for NASCAR to improve racing. This is especially relevant in terms of safety within the Next Gen cars. Kevin Harvick was the biggest champion for this cause, and other drivers like Gragson are agreeing with him.

He also talked about a hilarious exchange between the two of them. Gragson said, “We’re at the driver’s meet and deal and he came up to me. He was like, ‘Are you gonna finish all the laps today?’.”
“Ironically, he didn’t, he did all but one.”
“I was like, ‘Dude, I love what you’ve been saying about the safety. Because I took a hard hit at Daytona this year, then Atlanta, took a hard hit.”

Already, the Cup Series has seen a victim, in the form of 23XI Racing driver Kurt Busch. Ever since his qualifying crash at Pocono, Busch has not stepped into a race car as he even relinquished his Playoff berth.
This should ideally be enough to tell anyone that there is a serious problem and NASCAR has to look into it. Harvick has also noted that there have been a few occasions where the car has caught fire, which is a massive hazard. Now, Gragson is throwing his lot with the Stewart-Haas Racing driver.

Hopefully, for everyone’s sake, NASCAR will take steps to fix this and assure the drivers that they will be safer in their cars.
