In a post-race interview, Gragson confessed that he was feeling quite unwell in the immediate aftermath of the race. Suffice to say, he had to recover a bit and avoid blacking out.
The JR Motorsports driver’s condition was arguably avoidable because he seriously began regretting his burnouts.
Apparently, he breathed in the smoke, and it made him dizzy. Noah Gragson also said, “I was breathing that in and got pretty nauseous and tunnel vision. I felt like i was about to pass out.”
Noah Gragson was not the only one suffering at the Darlington race
It is also worth mentioning that the likes of Kyle Larson and Anthony Alfredo had issues as well. According to the Hendrick Motorsports driver, he was suffering from heat exhaustion and had to sit down after the race.

Meanwhile, Alfredo reportedly had a bout of sickness during Stage 2. As a result, he lost control of his car and collided with John Hunter Nemechek while under caution.
In the end, the final battle between Larson, Gragson, and Sheldon Creed kept fans at the edge of their seat. For a while, Creed was leading and survived multiple onslaughts from Kyle Larson. All the while, Noah Gragson was occasionally poking his nose and waiting to pick up the pieces. So when Larson and Creed collided and ground against the wall, Gragson pounced and snatched the lead on the last lap.

Needless to say, it was incredible that Gragson and Kyle Larson managed to finish where they were. Especially considering how much they both suffered after the race. Unfortunately, there will be little time to rest because the next race of the season is at Kansas in the coming weekend. The Bristol Motor Speedway comes right after that and heralds the regular season finale before the Playoffs.
