“Probably not.” This is what Kyle Busch had to say when he was asked whether any other NASCAR team will sign him up should Joe Gibbs Racing lets him go after this season.

Ahead of the race at Talladega Superspeedway, the No.18 driver was questioned about several topics that revolved around his future. Or, to be more precise, the lack of a primary sponsor he still has for the next season.

Busch emphasized that he isn’t “getting antsy” about it. He, in his usual animated mood, described the approach he has in this situation – “If it happens, it happens. If it don’t, it don’t. Goodbye.”

The straightforwardness Kyle Busch had about his uncertain future at JGR didn’t result in NASCAR fans reacting worriedly. In fact, most of them were certain that any team would take him up in an instant.

And to be fair, he still has at least a good 4-5 seasons worth of racing left in him.

During the recent Bristol dirt race, Tyler Reddick, who lost out at a shot of celebrating in the victory lane courtesy of some crushing bad luck at the very end, spoke about Kyle Busch in pretty high regard.

Before all hell broke loose for Reddick, he said of Busch on his radio, “One of the best in stock car racing, Kyle Busch, he’s definitely going to make me earn it.”

As for making him earn it, that didn’t happen. Because the Richard Childress Racing driver was wrecked in the very end by Chase Briscoe. And while this happened, the Candyman was in the right place at the right time.
