Every year, the playoff finale features some celebrity or sporting icon to commemorate the final race of each season. This year’s NASCAR playoff finale at the Phoenix Raceway will see someone special drive the pace car as the drivers prepare their charge toward the championship victory.

NASCAR journalist Bob Pockrass revealed, “Honorary pace-car driver for Cup championship race at Phoenix … former Arizona Cardinals star wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald.“
Larry Fitzgerald is an iconic NFL wide receiver, whose career has spanned over 17 seasons. He has spent the entirety of his career playing for the Arizona Cardinals and throughout his iconic career has amassed over 11 Pro-Bowls, and multiple awards and is often regarded as one of the very best wide receivers of all time throughout the sport.
Fans excited for the Phoenix honorary pace-car driver
Fans were obviously head over heels at the announcement that the NFL icon would be seen driving the pace car as an honorary guest at the NASCAR Cup Series 2022 season playoff finale.
Fans stated that this was great news since Fitzgerald was often viewed as a positive icon across sports.
