Seems like Denny Hamlin had to take the L after all. The 23XI Racing co-owner had made a prediction before the Super Bowl that it’d be the Eagles who would trump the Chiefs. Of course, that didn’t turn out to be the case as the Chiefs won.

But the thing that stood out about Hamlin’s prediction wasn’t his pick. Rather, it was the reason he picked the Eagles.

“I think the Eagles got the easiest route to the Super Bowl of any team out there,Hamlin said of the Philadelphia Eagles“Kansas City, everybody’s in the world like Kansas City. I believe that the public is dumb.”

Denny Hamlin’s “public is dumb” opinion sees him get trolled by a fan

Given the fact that the Chiefs won the Super Bowl against Hamlin’s prediction and that he had called the public dumb, the driver got trolled by a fan on Twitter.

“If the public is dumb for thinking the chiefs were going to win, then what does that make Denny Hamlin?” read the fan’s comment.

But this wasn’t over yet, as the Joe Gibbs Racing driver had a response with which he attempted to have the last word.

“I read the script. Took KC 1 hour before game time. That equals cash. (Public took Philly NOT Kc),” Hamlin replied.
