Everybody knows about Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s undying love for the Washington Commanders. The NASCAR legend has been following the team for years, and his outspoken support for the team on social media is quite well-known. What a result for the Washington Commanders! They overcame a double-digit deficit to pull off a dramatic 36-33 win over the mighty Philadelphia Eagles. Rookie Jayden Daniels continued his red-hot form by finding Jamison Crowder for the final touchdown with just six seconds remaining, with first-year head coach Dan Quinn improving his record to 10-5 with the result. To say that the result was a big one would be an understatement, as ‘The Commanders’ cemented their first 10-win season since 2012.
Veteran driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. couldn’t have been happier. The racer expressed his joy at the result by writing on X, “Hey @Commanders. Hell of a job today. Proud fan.” It’s easy to understand why Junior and the rest of Washington Commanders fans are so ecstatic at the result. With one more win, the team will have its highest win tally since the 1991 season, which was when they won the Super Bowl. Commanders fans have not experienced a winning season in the last eight years, while the franchise hasn’t won a playoff game in over a decade as well.
Victory always tastes sweeter after a period of hardship. That’s exactly what Dale Earnhardt Jr. and the rest of the fans seem to be experiencing at the moment. While the Commanders have already eliminated the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers, they have not secured a playoff spot just yet. With just two weeks remaining, the Washington Commanders will have at least a one-game lead for an NFC wild-card spot and could come closer to a playoff place with a victory against the Falcons.

As for Philadelphia Eagles’ Jalen Hurts, the quarterback had quite a forgettable match against ‘The Commanders’. The 26-year-old Texan fell victim to a concussion just minutes into the game and was ruled out after being evaluated. As a result, Kenny Pickett was forced to play as the backup quarterback. As for Dale Earnhardt Jr., he will not be complaining at lady luck being on his team’s side and will hope that they manage to secure another memorable triumph before the year ends.

Unsurprisingly, the dressing room was celebrating after the Washington Commanders secured a historic win. With the playoffs almost in touching distance, the players celebrated with head coach Dan Quinn, while prominent figures within the NASCAR community shared their thoughts on social media. Joe Gibbs Racing driver Ty Gibbs took to Instagram and wrote “Hail W” while resharing the victory post by ‘The Commanders’ and he wasn’t alone.
After the game, Quinn came into the dressing room and told his team, “It’s taken every f—king one of us. Everybody in this locker room man. Collectively. It did take f—king everybody. Congratulations on number 10 man. Heavy hitters are now here”. Paying tribute to his coach, wide receiver Terry McLaurin went on to say, “Hey, I got a game ball to the first coach in his first season to get 10 wins in franchise history”.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. must have been itching to join in the celebrations and went on to write, “Amazing” after listening to Dan Quinn’s small speech in the dressing room. Denny Hamlin’s former crew chief Chris Gabehart also shared his inputs, as he went on to write, “Better bring more than X’s and O’s or you’ll end up lacking”, echoing the head coach’s sentiments that the team needs to remain united to make the season truly memorable. With the off-season currently underway, Dale Jr. will be tuned onto the television set next week as well, hoping that the Commanders continue their incredible momentum going into the new year.
