Today’s much-awaited Super Bowl LVIII game has drawn fans from unlikely quarters, including some of the top-ranked drivers in NASCAR.

The Super Bowl LVIII is well underway, with football fans holding their popcorn buckets both on-field and off-field at home. The game is between two strong teams, the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers. As the game progresses, some NASCAR drivers are multi-tasking and contemplating who’s going to win the Super Bowl championship and also who’s going to ace the Daytona 500 race next week.

Racers are rooting for their favorite Super Bowl teams

The age of the internet and fast communication have made it easier for different disciplines to meet. This holds even in the sporting world, where people from varying games interact and support each other. That is what we saw when NASCAR veterans expressed immense excitement about being a part of the Super Bowl fanbase.

First, Chase Elliott reposted a tweet from the NFL page carrying a hand-painted poster of 49er Brock Purdy and Chief Patrick Mahomes facing each other. Elliott tweeted, “Who do you have winning tonight?!?”

Next, Kevin Harvick was seen bonding with his daughter over a hot topic in football. Harvick asked his daughter, Piper, about her favorite NFL team, and it looks like she was confident in the Kansas City Chiefs because her favorite Taylor Swift is backing the team that has her boyfriend Travis Kelce. Similarly, other NASCAR racers also engaged in this conversation.

Then, Kenny Wallace tweeted, “It’s a great event for America. A lot of people will buy groceries and products, and a lot of money will be spent. It really is a national holiday, but the government will not do that. I am going with the Kansas City Chiefs because the stadium is in Missouri.”.

NASCAR veteran, Jeff Gordon also posted a video on Instagram. He said, “Alright, headed out to Vegas to watch my 9ers win the Superbowl. It’s been since 1994 that they won their last one, the same year I won my first race. So, 2024, it’s our year. Go 9ers!”

Additionally, Joey Logano took it to X with two photos of the legendary Daytona 500 race. He tweeted: “Super Bowl Sunday & 1 Week Countdown…🏁 #Daytona500”. Following Logano was Kyle Busch who let everybody know what he was thinking, as he tweeted, “The real Super Bowl is next week.😉But for tonight, I got the Chiefs. Who u got?”

Chase Elliott is the hot pick among racing experts for the championship title. Elliott has previously achieved nearly all places in the race, from 2nd to 38th. Hence, he has a strong shot at finally getting first place this season.
