Technically, it takes a little over 2 hours on a flight from Mooresville, North Carolina to Olathe, Kansas. So, for a Mooresville native to be present at Kansas Speedway on 11th September, boarding the airplane a day prior would perhaps be sufficient. However, for a very different reason, RFK Racing co-owner Brad Keselowski boarded his flight, days before the second race in the round of 16s of the Cup Series playoffs.

The 39-year-old speedster is already in Kansas. Along with him is his spotter TJ Majors. But what is a driver and spotter duo doing in Kansas three days before the race day?

The Detroit Lions turned the course of the 2023-24 NFL season opener defeating the reigning Super Bowl champions Kansas City Chiefs. Beating a 6-point deficit, the Lions stood strong against the Chiefs with a score of 21-20.

Having received the title of Most Valuable Player in the 2022 Super Bowl, Quarterback Patrick Mahomes completed 21 of 39 attempts and threw for 226 yards. With two touchdowns in the second quarter and an interception, the 27-year-old Texas NFL sensation went for a team-high 45 yards.

However, it was counterpart Jared Goff who stood out making 22 passes out of 35 attempts for 253 yards.

The Lion’s defense was rock solid, especially in the second half. As a result, the game came to a tie in the third quarter. Later, the Lions grabbed the lead and stood firm, blocking the Chiefs on their final two possessions.

Brad Keselowski seemed to be in full support of the Lions as he tweeted, “Headed to Kansas a little early… Go @Lions!”

Seeing this, NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. commented, “Where is TJ.” Keselowski replied with a picture of him and Majors saying, “Don’t worry, he’s here!” Here are Brad’s tweets.

Someone urged Brad to gloat in front of Chiefs fan Clint Bowyer and commented, “That’s awesome! Make sure to give @ClintBowyer some crap! Lions answered the bell!”

Another fan called Brad Keselowski a lucky charm and exclaimed, “Lions heard the great Brad was there and had to win. If I was playing a pop-warner team and Brad Keselowski was there, I’d drop at least 50 points on the opponent. Maybe it’s because I’m 6’6 245 actually”

An RFK Racing fan expressed how happy he was at Brad’s holistic success in this season. They stated, “Damn BK. Your having a great summer. 3 wins. 2 cars in the Playoffs. Now the Lions beat the chiefs.”
