Looks like there is no end to the drama going on in NASCAR these days. There was already a lot of fuss about the penalties imposed on Hendrick Motorsports, Kaulig Racing, and Denny Hamlin after the race at the Phoenix Raceway. To add to the misery, dramatic scenes were witnessed in the NASCAR Xfinity Series race in Atlanta on Saturday. Apparently, Antonio Brown, the NFL wide receiver, has given his seal of approval to one of them.
Brown himself has been a controversial figure since his playing days. He just retired earlier this month but as always, he likes to be around controversy. It doesn’t come as a surprise that he supported the drama in NASCAR recently.

It all started when Josh Williams’ car was damaged on Lap 27 when he got tangled in a crash involving Kyle Weatherman and Jeb Burton. This impacted his right front fender. While his team tried their best to repair it eventually, the debris kept falling off, bringing out another caution on Lap 33.
To Williams’ dismay, he was ordered to bring his car back to the garage. Obviously, this maddened the DGM Racing driver. Instead of returning to the pits, he stopped the car on the checkered start-finish line. Funnily, he left it there and left the cockpit, flashing a peace sign to the crowd while walking back to the pit road.

This reaction was highly unexpected and surprising for many. But somehow, it was right up Antonio Brown’s alley. Interestingly, the 34-year-old has been himself guilty of carrying out a similar action last year.
While playing for Tampa Bay Buccaneers against the New York Jets, he had a fallout with his team. Unhappy with it, the wide receiver pulled off his jersey and left the game midway. Naturally, Brown fancies such an act and came out supporting Williams on social media.

Williams storming off midway was one thing but his comments later proved how angry he was with the decision.

No driver is ever going to be happy to see their race end like how it did with Williams. The 29-year-old was taken to the infield center straightaway after the incident before he met with the officials.
Josh Williams says he didn’t think NASCAR’s call was right to park him, but it is in the rulebook. NASCAR said any penalties would be determined Tuesday.

Later, he spoke to the reporters explaining his frustration. Williams said, “We all work really hard, right? And to only run X amount of laps and then have something like a piece of bearbond fall off and put us out of the race.
“It’s really frustrating.
“(We’re a) small team, we work really hard and we’ve got to make our sponsors happy, right? It doesn’t do you any good sitting in the garage. But it is what it is.”

It is understandable where he comes from. Unfortunately, the rules are what they are for everyone.
