Remember the Drake curse, where teams or athletes the Grammy-winning rapper rooted for seemed to always lose after he placed big bets on them? Well, it looks like that curse might have jumped over to the teams and athletes sponsored by Logan Paul and KSI’s Prime. Since Paul and the British YouTuber launched their company in January 2022, business has been booming. They’ve inked deals with top-tier teams like Barcelona, Arsenal, and Bayern Munich and snagged famous athletes like Israel Adesanya, Alex Volkanovski, Kyle Larson, and Devin Haney.
But fans started noticing a pattern: it seemed like everyone they teamed up with ended up losing. That is, until Kyle Larson flipped the script by clinching a win at the Kansas race, finally shaking off that unlucky streak for Prime-sponsored stars.
Kyle Larson might just be the lucky charm Logan Paul and his crew were looking for

Logan Paul, a professional wrestler, recently shared a story on social media about Kyle Larson nailing a win at the Kansas race by a hair’s breadth of 0.0001 seconds, with the caption, “NASCAR driver/Prime athlete @kylelarsonracin won his race by 0.0000 seconds.“ Just two months prior, in February, Larson had inked an endorsement deal with Prime Hydration, the beverage brand owned by Logan Paul and KSI. Larson joined a star-studded endorsement team that includes NFL giant Patrick Mahomes and soccer phenom Erling Haaland. With Larson snagging two wins so far this season, it may be, just maybe, he might have lifted the alleged curse hanging over the brand.
- Meanwhile, big teams like Barcelona and Bayern Munich haven’t clinched any major titles since partnering with Prime. Bayern Munich, which welcomed PRIME as its official isotonic drink partner in August 2023, had a streak of winning the Bundesliga for 11 consecutive years, a record in Europe’s top five leagues. However, that run came to an end recently when they lost to Stuttgart just before their Champions League semi-final match at Santiago Bernabéu, allowing Bayer Leverkusen to make history by clinching the Bundesliga title this season.
- Just like Devin Haney recently took a hit in his boxing match against Ryan Garcia and Israel Adesanya lost his title to Sean Strickland, other stars and teams linked with Logan Paul and KSI’s sports drink PRIME seem to be facing a rough patch.
- The LA Lakers, who made PRIME their official sports drink in March 2024, got knocked out of the season by the Denver Nuggets.
- Then there’s Alex Volkanovski, who, after signing with Logan Paul last June, lost his UFC featherweight title to Ilia Topuria with a shocking knockout in the second round at UFC 298 in Los Angeles, despite successfully defending it five times before.
- Erling Haaland, another high-profile athlete signed by PRIME in August 2023, hasn’t been on top of his game either, recently missing City’s 1-0 victory over Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.
Despite these setbacks, Kyle Larson has bucked the trend by snagging wins this season, challenging the notion of a “PRIME curse.” Yet, many fans have picked up on this pattern and have been actively sharing their thoughts on Twitter, stirring up quite the conversation about the supposed jinx.

One fan, spotting the trend with teams and athletes sponsored by Logan Paul’s Prime, tweeted, “Prime is cursed 💀.“ Another chimed in, “omg the PRIME curse might be real,” after checking out A. Matthews’ performance. Someone else shared a picture captioned, “The Prime Curse,” with an image listing some disappointing outcomes: “Barca couldn’t retain their La Liga title, Arsenal bottled the PL twice, end of Bayern’s 11 season winning streak.”
Another follower added, “The Prime Curse is Real.“ More tweets popped up like, “prime curse is real,” “Is the Prime curse real?” and “The Prime Curse is real!” Another fan, while making fun of the same, wrote, “Prime it’s Time to lose”..that should be the motto😂.”
