The Daytona International Speedway is one of the most iconic motorsports venues of all time, with fans flocking to its doors whenever a NASCAR event is held there. Now, these fans will have another attraction close to the track, which they are quite familiar with. The store in question will be retail heavyweights Costco and their latest store will be located at a place that NASCAR fans are all too familiar with.

Unlike other Costco stores, this one will have a unique feature. The store will cover a huge area of 150,000 square feet and according to a report, it will have a checkered flag pattern at the front to pay homage to the track it is built across from. It will also be the first store of its kind located on the One Daytona campus, which is a big deal for the company and fans.

“Costco is a top international retailer that will significantly round out the retail mix, and because we currently do not have a concept like this on site, it will greatly enhance the everyday experience for those who live, visit, and play at One Daytona,” One Daytona President Roxanne Ribakoff said in a press release as per FOX 35.

The $294.24 billion-worth company announced the project in 2022 and it is finally nearing its completion. The Costco store will be accessible during the 2024 edition of the Daytona 500 and there is no doubt that it will be a massive hit with those in attendance.

The One Daytona complex boasts several enormous stores like Bass Pro Shops, Guitar Center, and Plato’s Closet. When one gets hungry, they can visit Jersey Mike’s, Crumbl Cookies, and 4 Rivers Smokehouse. The complex is a place that is frequently visited by fans, especially so on race weekends, and there has been a lot of hype around the new Costco store.

“Watch the Daytona 500 then immediately cross the street to get a $1.50 hotdog. The American dream,” one user wrote on Twitter. “But will they allow the $1.50 hotdogs into the track is the question though,” expressed another.

Costco was founded 4 decades ago and as of 2023, they are the world’s third-largest retailer. The company has its fair share of loyal customers who are happy to see one of their favorite retailers continuing to grow.

“Costco taking over the world. I love it,” one user wrote. “Oh BABY,” commented another. Another fan hoped that Costco’s new store did not interfere with the running and success of the Cracker Barrel restaurant. “As long as it does not effect the Cracker Barrel,” they wrote.
