A couple of years ago, NASCAR driver Chase Elliott made an appearance on the “The Brilliantly Dumb Show” podcast. Over there, the prospect of Tesla entering NASCAR, was brought up. Obviously, the idea of new manufacturers joining a major racing series is nothing new. The same applies for NASCAR, with a number of manufacturers giving the stock car series a shot. Currently, there are three major manufacturers, Chevrolet, Ford, and Toyota. Now, one has to wonder if Tesla CEO Elon Musk would be willing to play ball in NASCAR
Elliott mentioned in the podcast, “Man that’s tough. Never say never. No I don’t think we’re going to get a 10, I would say maybe 5. Never say never, who knows, I don’t know where things are going. I don’t think anybody does, right now. I’m not sure I would be for it at the moment, just because I just think there’s a lot of history and things over the years with NASCAR. I feel like it’s tied to regular powered cars, but who knows. Way above me, those decisions are far beyond what my opinion is or matters.”

What lies ahead for Chase Elliott in the NASCAR Cup Series?
The 2022 Cup campaign was a reasonably alright one for the #9 driver. He managed to reach Championship 4, though he lost to the eventual champion, Joey Logano. On the bright side, he was the best of the Hendrick Motorsports drivers, despite finishing 4th in the championship. He was in strong contention for the title but got taken out of the race at the season finale at Phoenix.
Now, all that Chase Elliott can do is rue what could have been. From there, the Hendrick Motorsports driver will be keen to redeem himself and gun for a second Cup Series championship. Of course, newly crowned champion Logano will want to defend his crown, and there are other top contenders as well.
