Bubba Wallace, given his default reputation amongst a certain fraction of the NASCAR fanbase, is surrounded by neck-deep criticism for what he did against Kyle Larson. So given the storm, he is in currently, it’s not surprising that a video from the past in which he did something similar has also emerged.
This was back in 2019, with the driver on the other side of Wallace being Larson’s current Hendrick Motorsports teammate, Alex Bowman.
Yes, that infamous incident in which the 23XI Racing driver walked up to the #48 driver and threw water on his face after the race.

As you’d expect, the resurfacing of this incident furthered the anger of the already angered NASCAR fans who are in the anti-Bubba Wallace club with most of the reactions furthering their criticism of the driver.
One reaction even claimed that by punishing Wallace, NASCAR wouldn’t want to anger his boss.

Bubba Wallace should’ve gotten way more in his penalty per Kyle Petty
Speaking about his one-race suspension penalty, Kyle Petty didn’t hold back one bit about what Bubba Wallace should’ve got instead as he also reacted to the #45 driver’s excuse of a broken steering as the reason for wrecking Larson.
“He should have been suspended for the rest of the year. Rest of the year,” Petty said. “He turns a guy in the right rear into the outside wall intentionally. Steering brake?”
“That’s laughable.”

Petty even went on to say that intentionally wrecking someone in itself is a suspension. Add to that, Wallace’s following actions of walking across the racetrack, which naturally isn’t safe, calls for “another suspension.”
Do you think NASCAR could consider extending Bubba Wallace’s penalty, especially given the past incident with Bowman? Or will he simply get away with a one-race suspension?
